Microsoft reveals which Xbox Game Studio games are not supported on Steam Deck

Microsoft is helping its Game Pass subscribers understand which games are “Verified” and which are “Playable” in the Steam library of games for Windows now that Windows can be installed on Valve’s new Steam Deck.

While most Xbox Game Studio titles will run Steam Deck, Halo Infinite, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Gears 5 and Microsoft Flight Simulator X are not supported due to the lack of anti-cheat software available for Steam Deck currently. Anti-cheat software has to be installed at the kernel level and is currently not supported. Additionally, Microsoft has eight games that are “Verified” and six games that are marked as “Playable.” Playable games are described as games that at one point or another need a touchscreen to enter text in a game, but could be updated in time.

Full list of Xbox Game Studios titles for Steam Deck:

Verified:

  • Deathloop
  • Psychonauts 2
  • Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
  • The Evil Within
  • Fallout Shelter
  • Prey
  • Battletoads
  • Max: The Curse of Brotherhood

Playable:

  • Sea of Thieves
  • Fallout 4
  • Forza Horizon 5
  • Forza Horizon 4
  • Quantum Break
  • State of Decay: YOSE

Unsupported:

  • Gears 5
  • Halo: The Master Chief Collection
  • Halo Infinite
  • Microsoft Flight Simulator X

Microsoft’s list of Xbox Game Studios currently available on Steam is pretty short, but with Windows now able to be installed on Steam Deck, gamers can now get access to Xbox Game Pass games in the Microsoft Store.
