New Windows 10 icon rollout continues with Xbox Apps

Microsoft has quietly been updating their app icons over the last couple of weeks and today it started updating Xbox apps.

Do you remember Microsoft Groove, it lost its streaming features and its OneDrive music library integration but it still plays locally stored music. Microsoft also updated its Movies and TV app icon.

There are still a few built-in Xbox app icons that have not been updated yet. Perhaps the most obviously out dated icon is the Edge icon.

Microsoft Edge recently was overhauled on all its published platforms. Currently there are versions of Edge built on Chromium and Webkit. The Chromium versions are published for Windows & Android and the Webkit versions are for iOS/iPadOS. But because Edge on Xbox is a UWP app, it needs another UWP app to replace it, so we might have to wait a while for the updated Edge icon.
