How to instantly make your Facetime calls sound better on iPhone, iPad and Mac

Today we want to share a great feature buried within iOS 15 and macOS Monterey that will instantly make your audio and video calls sound much better with a how-to guide below.

How to activate Voice Isolation mode on iOS

  1. On your iOS device (iPhone or iPad) make sure you are running iOS 15 or later
  2. To check your OS version, Open the Settings app
  3. Select About
  4. Under Software Version check for 15.x, currently we have 15.5 installed
  5. Start a Facetime call (you won’t see the Mice Mode button if not in a Facetime call)
  6. Pull down the Control Center from the upper left corner of your iPhone or iPad, if an iPhone with a home button like the iPhone SE pull Control Center up from the bottom right.
  7. Select the highlighted Mic Mode button
  8. Then select Voice Isolation mode
  9. Enjoy!

  1. On your Mac make sure you are running macOS Monterey or later
  2. To check your OS version, Open the Settings app
  3. Select About
  4. Under Software Version check for macOS Monterey
  5. Start a Facetime call (you won’t see the Mice Mode button if not in a Facetime call)
  6. Open Control Center
  7. Select the highlighted Mic Mode button
  8. Then select Voice Isolation mode
  9. Enjoy!
