Here at Platform De.Central we whole-heartedly support product choice and by extension, web browser choice and in the latest Windows 11 build Microsoft is making it easier to set up default apps with one click. This marks a significant change since many of the Windows Insider builds leading up to this featured a very frustrating and anti-competitive experience that forced users to have to set the default browser for each file type and action.

How to set your default browser in Windows 11

• Starting with Windows 11 Build 22518.1000 you can set default apps with one click
• Open Settings
• Select Apps in the menu on the left
• Under Apps Select Default apps
• Select Set default
• Now your browser of choice is set as the default and all web links will open with it
• Enjoy!

This new process is very user friendly and enables users to choose any browser they like and easily set it as their default, ultimately resulting in a more balanced approach to competition in the browser market for Windows 11.
