Scroll will become part of the Twitter Blue subscription and deliver an Ad-free Platform De.Central experience to new and existing readers alike. Scroll is an Ad-free subscription service that enables Ad-free reading of sites like Platform De.Central, The Verge, USA Today and so on. Scroll was acquired by Twitter in May and upon acquisition stopped accepting new sign-ups until Scroll was completely integrated into Twitter’s Blue subscription.
On top of Ad-free reading of sites like Platform De.Central, The Verge, USA Today and others, Twitter Blue also offers and ‘Undo Tweet’ feature, a bookmark groups feature that expands the bookmarking feature and offers the ability to separate bookmarks into different folders. Additionally, Twitter Blue features a reader mode that converts longer threads into a single block of text and the ability to choose color themes and app icons.
So far Twitter has not detailed what the transition will look like for current Scroll subscribers but we imagine more details like price or regional availability will be shared in the coming weeks. Scroll’s subscription was $5 per month which was dispersed out to the sites subscribers spent the most time on. There are rumors of an all-inclusive $2.99 per month price which would amount to a value add of Scroll’s Ad-free reading to Twitter Blue’s $3 price tag for free. When we know more we will be sure to let you all know.
