Microsoft is beginning its global rollout of Windows 11 to the general public today according to their blog post. While many of us have participated in the Windows Insider program by testing Windows 11 Insider builds over the summer, many of you may be new to Windows 11 and not know where to start. We are here to help.
How to check if your PC is eligible for Windows 11
Starting today, you can check to see if your PC is eligible for Windows 11 using:
- the PC Health Check app
- Or navigate to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and selecting Check for updates
Microsoft says that if your PC is eligible for Windows 11, you will see the banner from the image below.
Users who are using a device that is not eligible for Windows 11, Microsoft says “Windows 10 is a great place to be. Windows 10 will be serviced through Oct. 14, 2025 and we previously announced that the next feature update to Windows 10 is coming very soon, continuing to offer you both support and choice with Windows.”
