Far Cry 6 Preview and what you need to know

Have you played Far Cry before? If you have then you probably know the formula used when making Far Cry games but Far Cry 6 includes a few extra ingredients. With everything going on in the world of Far Cry 6 some good old fashion open-world run, and gun might just be what we need. Taking inspiration from Far Cry 3’s tropical landscape, Far Cry 4’s story of rebellion and not forget the pet feature from Far Cry 5 and Primal.  Basically, if you’re a fan of the series you’ll know exactly what are getting.

A serious story and silly side missions, Far Cry 6 will be loaded with both. This time around the main character (Dani Rojas) will be more vocal and speak more with the stuff going on around her making the game feel all that more real and alive. One thing Far Cry has been good at doing is making their hero’s and villains sit in that grey area between what makes a hero and villain. You will be tasked with fighting and taking over Mexico from an evil dictator like in Far Cry 4’s Himalayan mountains.

There are plenty of additions to Far Cry 6 that should keep the game feeling fresh. First there will be the back mounted equipment that the player can use and upgrade throughout the game. With the rockets, you can shoot from your back Boba Fett style, but the word is that you might be able to use it as a jetpack. The weapons will have more of a new dawn feel to them, made with scrap lying around instead of the more manufactured look. Need to get around? Now you can use horses for a Red Dead-like gameplay.

Who could forget the fangs for hire? These animal companions are the best thing to come to the game since Primal. There is nothing more satisficing then taking out an enemy base with one of these beasts. Chorizo is a little handy capped wiener dog. But don’t let that fool you, this dog can attack your enemies leaving your enemy distracted long enough for you to take them out. This little guy has become a fan favorite even though he may not be as effective as the other animals. Guapo is a cuddly alligator with a gold tooth but he’s only friendly if he likes you, if he doesn’t then you going to probably end up as his next lunch. Being a gator, he is more effective than Chorizo and will actually be able to take out enemies on his own. All other animals have yet to be revealed but there is one more pet that you will be able to get that has only been teased in the trailer and that will be a big fighting rooster. You will be able to pick up your copy October 7th on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.
