ARMs Race | Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus



Qualcomm announced its flagship phone SOC just last December the Snapdragon 888, but it is now releasing a more powerful variant the Snapdragon 888+.

The Snapdragon 888+ differs from the standard 888 in many notable ways but the most notable features are boosted CPU clock speeds and an upgraded AI engine amounting to a 20% performance boost over the standard 888. Firstly, the Kryo 680 ‘Prime Core’ which is based on ARM’s Cortex X is boosted from 2.84GHz up to 2.995GHz. The three Cortex A78-based cores are running at 2.4GHz and the remaining efficiency cores are running at 1.8GHz. Qualcomm’s 6th-gen AI engine is now capable of 32 TFLOPS, up from 26 TFLOPS in the standard 888.
