Earlier today, Google announced Android 12 its next flagship operating system for phones and tablets with a fresh new UI overhaul called ‘Material You’ that includes new enhancements to icons and widgets. We have known for some time that Google would again follow in Apple’s footsteps for which Apple followed Microsoft in essentially creating live tiles. Glanceable info that you choose, right on your home screen.

Android 12’s new widgets include Google Sans font, flat icons and color palettes derived from the user’s wallpaper. All of this together makes for a fresh new look for Android, just in time for Spring. We have included a number of widgets from Android’s developer site below.

The new widgets offer “one shot answers, quick updates, and multi-step interactions” within the widgets. Like if you have a to-do list widget, you can mark items completed right on the widget.
