In what Apple’s Tim Cook said was “their first” event of 2021, the online only product launches are extremely fast paced and, in an effort, to get you the headliner news you want, we prioritize what we write first like all news organizations. We didn’t want to leave any product announcements out however so this article will cover the rest.

Apple Card Family

Apple Card holder will enable spouses “to share and merge their credit lines, have equal rights on their account and build credit equally,” said Tim Cook. “Apple Card can now be used by anyone in your family over the age of 13 with optional spending limits and controls for kids.”

Apple Podcasts

“You know, Apple helped launch the Podcasts industry 15 years ago,” Tim Cook opened with. Apple is launching a newly design Apple Podcasts app, each show and episode has a re-designed page. Apple is also introducing channels, making it easier to find new shows by your favorite creators. Apple is introducing Apple Podcasts subscriptions, which Apple claims, unlocks new content and additional benefits like Ad-free listening, early-access and more.

iPhone 12 now in Purple

AirTags

“Find My includes a vast end-to-end encrypted and anonymous network approaching 1 billion Apple Devices that can help locate a missing iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad and Mac, even when its offline,” said Apple’s Engineering Program Manager, iPhone Systems, Carolyn Wolfman-Estrada. “We also opened up Find My to 3rd-party products and this is just the beginning.”

The following is a series of screenshots from the product video:

AirTags can be personalized with emoji’s and text.

There is a number of AirTags accessories to be available on April 30th.

The Find My app includes something Apple calls Precison Finding (on iPhone 12 models only) gives you visual, haptic and audio feedback to help you find your lost item with an Air Tag attached.

Apple is also baking in extra privacy protections like Unwanted tag detection, Rotating identifiers and Audible alerts.

Apple worked with Hermes on three special AirTags that have been custom etched and include on of three different leather accessories.

You can buy a single AirTag for $29 or a 4-pack for $99, which saves you $20. Ordes start this Friday, April 23rd and will be available on April 30th.

That sums it up

This concludes our roundup of (arguably) non-headliner product announcements from today’s ‘Spring Loaded’ event. Check back with our other Apple product announcement articles as we are going to be updating them as more details become available.
