De.Central Deals | $30 off the New Amazon Fire HD 8 Tablets today only

Amazon recently announced a refreshed Fire HD 8 tablet, an all-new Fire HD 8 Plus tablet and a refreshed Fire HD 8 Kids Edition Tablet. Each of these devices received long over-due upgrades as well as a few surprise ones.

Fire HD 8

Amazon added a faster processor, more RAM and USB-C. Each one of these upgrades are sorely welcomed, as the Fire HD 8 has not seen any updates in the last few years. The processor is now a Quad Core chip that runs at 2.0GHz instead of the previous 1.3GHz chip. RAM is now 2GB whereas it was only 1.5GB before. Storage has doubled in capacity from 16GB to a whopping 32GB and now you can select a 64GB storage option. You can also now utilize up to a 1TB Micro-SD card, which is up from only 400GB from the previous model. While much of the hardware was upgraded, the display is still a disappointing 1280 x 800 pixels display, even the battery is still the same and only rated at 12 hours of run time, but at least you will be able to charge it faster with the new USB-C port (included 5W charger). Now aside from the Fire HD 7, all Fire Tablets come with USB-C ports.
