Apple’s iOS might be a lockdown choice suppressing OS but at least they deliver OS updates to phones older than 4 and 5 years in some cases.
With so many people out of work now, people are going to change their device buying habits and hold onto the devices they have for a lot longer than they did in the past.
Do consumers really want to by a $1000 Android phone that will only get OS updates for 2-years and depreciate at a much steeper rate than if they got a $1000 iPhone that can get OS updates for up to 5 years and hold its value?
Apple has its WWDC event scheduled for June 22nd and is expected to reveal the next iOS 14, iPadOS (14), watchOS7, tvOS and macOS.
