Microsoft Family safety preview app rolling out to iOS and Android

Microsoft is launching a Family Safety app for individuals & families, today via a blog post, Microsoft is rolling out limited app previews for iOS and Android. Now that we are all working and learning from home Microsoft is offering a product that enables safety for the whole family while online.

The Family Safety app is a way for parents to keep an eye on their kid’s whereabouts and their digital activity across devices, like phones, PC’s and Xbox consoles.

  • Location Alerts
  • Drive Safety
  • Detailed map views
  • Drive reports
  • content filters
  • Screen time limits
  • Activity reporting

There is also a screen time feature built in, so parents can track their kid’s screen time.

A useful feature for families with kids that are starting to drive is the ability to track your kid’s speed while they are driving.

Another helpful feature is to have set time limits on a device such as an Xbox, with the ability for your child to request additional time.
