In response to the Coronavirus pandemic, Google made access to its premium features with Google Meet free for a limited time. The access was due to expire by July 1st, but Google is set to extend that program.

Today Google announced that it will extend access to September 30th for its G Suite and G Suite for Education customers. Access to these premium tiered features typically cost customers $25 per month per user. Reducing costs is something many organizations are being forced to do and reducing software costs is better than having to layoff employees, especially when so many people are finding themselves suddenly without a job.

Google also revealed today that Google Meet has seen 2 million more new users who are spending over 2 billion combined minutes on any given day as people are working from home in record numbers.
