Microsoft Teams for Home

Microsoft announced Teams for home preview today which is only a slightly better name than the rumored name Teams for life. The service aims to bring all the benefits of Teams for work to Teams for home with a preview starting this summer.

The features are designed to let family and friends connect in a group chat or through video calls, share to-do lists, photos and other content all in one location. The family features were originally part of Windows Phone and it was called Family Room where you could share photos and chat.

These new teams features are aimed at folks who plan trips with family and friends, organize book clubs and other social gatherings.

There is no word on if this will replace Skype, but there is not doubt that Teams for home is where a lot of the energy is right now.
